Highlights of what we, at Perfect Village Communities have been doing, thanks to your support

For the past 8 months, we have carried out the work planned since 2022, in preparation to take it further over the course of this year.

We received several donations, most privately, by the Kindred network UK, via our crypto hub (https://giveth.io/projects?term=creating%20the%20perfect%20village) and other individuals donations.

We also gained much motivation from the volunteers who offered their time and support remotely and locally in our communities.

This resulted in the production of 250 000 seedlings (part of which are fruit trees), to be used in our agro-forestry and landscape restoration project, for a more ethical and productive agriculture, improved human health and preserving natural biodiversity.

Numerous plantation events took place and more are planned for this March and April to distribute and plant the 30 000 seedlings still remaining.

All these activities took place under our supervision, as we trained communities on regenerative practices, restoration of ecosystems, production of tree nurseries, monitoring and maintenance in order to secure the long term viability of their efforts.

Over 100 women and young members of the community were employed in the past 8 months in our community productive units, as we aim not just to revive our natural habitat but to do so by improving the economic and social livelihood of our rural communities.

This way, we act local in response to the global climate crisis. At our local community level, with the limited resources available, we raise awareness on sustainability and environmental issues and encourage all to participate in taking action for change.

We are all interconnected in the web of life. In Burundi, rural communities are heavily affected by global climate and financial fluctuations, and with the collaboration of our local and international supporters, we are able to take local actions that impact both communities and environment at our local level, and which we believe plays a role in the global movement.

We invite you to take part (as an organisation, an individual, a family or any group), by planting trees wherever suitable in your location, or if possible, to join us here in Burundi to work together in restoring our ecosystem.
